Gleaning for Good
Partnered with www.endhunger.org Gleaning for Good volunteers have gathered and gleaned thousands of pounds of backyard fruit and redirected it to food banks. In 2020, 14,951 lbs of food was gleaned before the end of the year.
Hope Outreach Food Bank Garden
Currently in their third year of growing and providing fresh, organically grown food to Hope Outreach and other food banks.
Davie Community Garden
A food forest, banana circle and butterfly garden have been added and are demonstrating growing methods in order to have a vibrantly alive classroom to teach gardening, sustainability and ways to prepare the food that is grown.
Discover https://thecaringcommunity.love/about-us-2 where we provide Self-Care stress relief stations to educators and staff throughout Broward County through the Broward Schools EAP department. This program has been especially needed for the 2020-2021 school year.
There are many foods that grow abundantly in South Florida, but many people aren’t familiar with them. The community cookbook enables us to print out simple “how to” and recipe sheets when volunteers drop these foods to the food banks. Coming soon – Find out how you can have this book for a small donation to The Caring Community.
